You know your colleagues and your flatmates, and not many others yet. A Detor Social Table is six people from your city who are not from work or home.

Lived here for ages?

Your friends have kids, moved away, or are just busy. A Detor Social Table is an easy way to meet new people. You do not need to join a club or take up a sport.

Come alone, or bring one person. Everyone else at the table is new to you.

Some tables are for people who have something in common. They work the same way as every other Detor Social Table: the same questions, the same matching, the same price. The difference is who sits there, so you can book a table where you feel at ease. Press Interested on the ones you want, and we open them when enough people ask.

Women only

Only women at the table. The rest works the same way.

LGBTQ+ friendly

For LGBTQ+ people and friends. We never ask, you just book it.

How it works

It takes three steps and about a minute.

Answer a few questions once

Tell us what you like talking about, which languages you speak and how talkative you are. If you have an allergy, tell us and we will tell the kitchen.

Pick a table and take a seat

Choose coffee, brunch, dinner, wine or drinks. You see the date, the city and the seat fee before you book.

24 hours before, we tell you where and who

We send you the place, the time, the table number and the first names of the people you will meet.

There are no photos, no profiles and no swiping. The people at your table only see your first name and your pronouns.

Questions

Questions people ask us about Detor Social Table.

Is this a dating thing?

No. A Detor Social Table is six people who want to meet new people. Many of them become friends, and that is the idea.

Who will I sit with?

Five people you have not met before. We choose them so the table has plenty to talk about, and we spread women and men across the tables as evenly as we can. If you have sat with someone before, we will not seat you together again unless you both ask for it.

What does it cost?

You pay for what you eat and drink at the table. A seat costs €5. Bringing one person costs €2 more, and a couples table is €7 for the two of you. Your first booking is free, even with a +1.

Where is the table?

We tell you 24 hours before. Until then you only know the city and the time.

What if I can't come?

Cancel your seat in the app as soon as you know. Seats are limited, and when you cancel we can give your seat to someone else. If we cannot fill a table, we cancel it and refund what you paid.

What do you do with my answers?

We only use them to put your table together. The people at your table see your first name and your pronouns, and the kitchen hears about your allergies. Nobody else sees anything.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes, you can bring one person. You and your plus one always sit at the same table. We try to spread plus ones across the tables, so you still meet new people.

When does it start?

The first tables are in Amsterdam, and you can book a seat now.

On the dates you choose, we bring six people who have never been to you before. They pay their own bill. All you do is keep one table free.

If they like it, they come back and bring their friends.

Your colleagues meet people from other teams.

  • Why. In a big company, most people only know their own team. People who know each other work together more easily.
  • How we help. Your people answer a few questions once. We seat colleagues from different teams at one table, send the invitations and reminders, and tell you how many came.
  • Where. A café near the office, or your own canteen. If your teams work in different cities, we set up a virtual table on a secure video tool you choose.
