Three ways to use Detor. Pick the one that sounds like you.Three ways to use Detor.Pick the one that sounds like you.

One application covers all three.

Door 1 · Host an experience or a workshop

Get paid to show your city.

Detor is a new place for local experiences. Show people something you know well: a food walk, a bar they would not find alone, your craft, a workshop where they make it themselves. You choose when you run it. Getting paid is already set up.

0% Commission for your first 3 months Every euro a guest pays for your experience is yours.
10% For as long as you host Founding hosts stay on 10%. It never goes up.
Paid weekly From hosting to your bank Your earnings clear 72 hours after the experience, then reach your bank every Monday.
01 Step 01 · 10 minutes

Apply to be a host

Tell us who you are and which city you are in. It is a short form. No photos yet and no payment details.

02 Step 02 · While you wait

Build your experience

Set your price, your group size and your times. You can do this while we review your application. Genie can rewrite your words if you want, and you decide what to keep.

03 Step 03 · Within 48 hours

A person reviews and approves both

Someone at Detor checks you and your listing within 48 hours and approves them before either goes live. That is why you can trust that everyone else was approved the same way.

04 Step 04 · On approval

Your times become bookable

Recurring times become bookable slots up to 90 days out. Cross out any dates you are away and nobody can book those days.

05 Step 05 · As they book

Guests book and pay upfront

Guests pay by card before they arrive. You see each guest’s name, party size and notes. You never collect cash.

06 Step 06 · The day itself

You host

The meeting point is on their ticket. You can message each other on Detor if plans change, and one tap reaches help if you need it.

07 Step 07 · The next Monday

You are paid

Your earnings clear 72 hours after the experience ends. We send them to your bank account every Monday, and Detor writes the invoice for you.

Your console

Everything you need to run your bookings, in one place.

Once you are approved you get your own screen: your week, your bookings, your money and your reviews.

A week of slots in the host console, with booked, open and blacked-out days

09

Last-minute protection

A booked slot closes 15 minutes before it starts. An empty one closes an hour before, so nobody can book at the last minute.

Slots lock 15 minutes before you start.

Extra income, or more

Host it your way.

Host because you enjoy it. You choose the format, how often you run it, and who comes.

The format

Shared or private

Open sessions mix guests into one small group, priced per guest. Private-only gives one party the whole slot at one group price. You choose for each experience, and you can run one of each. A private booking closes the session to everyone else.

The group

You set the size

Set how many people can book. Nobody can join once it is full. Party size counts adults, teens, children and infants separately, so you know who is coming before the day.

How often

As often as you like

One session a month or several a week. You choose when you host. Set a time once and it repeats, opening bookable slots up to 90 days ahead.

Categories

Private buyouts & group work

The same evening, two more ways to earn.

  • Private buyouts. One party takes your whole slot at a group price you set. Nobody else joins.
  • Companies and big groups. They ask Detor for a private outing and we build it around what hosts already run. We bring the group to you and agree the price.

What you would earn

Set your price, your group size and how often you run it.

Move the sliders and the totals update. Guests pay online when they book, and Detor sends the money to your bank account. You never handle cash.

Your first three months cost you nothing at all. From month four Detor takes 10% of what a guest pays, plus 21% VAT on that 10%, so you keep 87.9% of every booking. That 10% is the founding rate and it never goes up. Hosts who join after a city opens pay 20%.

Door 2 · Sell tickets to your event

Sell tickets to your event without building a website.

You set the date, the price and how many tickets. Detor gives your event a page and takes the payments. You apply once, a person reads your application, and your money arrives in your bank account after the event.

Musicians playing guitars to a small seated audience in a living room

A small room with a paying crowd is what this is for.

Sound familiar?

If that was you, this is what Detor does instead.

  • Instead ofCollecting cash at the doorGuests pay by card when they book, so there is nothing to collect on the night.
  • Instead ofTaking reservations in Instagram DMsPeople book themselves, at any hour, without asking you if there is space.
  • Instead ofTracking RSVPs in a spreadsheetYour guest list is on one screen you can open at the door.
  • Instead ofTrying to build a websiteYou get a page, a price and ticket sales, with nothing to set up.

And starting takes two steps

  1. 01 Put your event on Detor Your dates, your price, and how many tickets there are. About ten minutes.
  2. 02 Share your link People buy a ticket or reserve a spot and pay by card.

It is as simple as that.

And most of it costs you nothing. Listing is free. Free events are free. Anyone who books through your own link is free. Detor is paid only when somebody finds your event on Detor and books it. And even then it is 0% for your first three months, then 5% for as long as you host, if you sign up before events open in your city. And the fee has a ceiling: never more than €10 a ticket.

What you can list and sell tickets for

Anything with a date: one night, a few nights, or the same night every week. You put it on Detor, people buy a ticket by card, and the money comes to you after the event.

Three musicians playing in a cosy brick-walled barA gigYour band plays a bar for one night.

Visitors looking at abstract paintings together in a galleryAn exhibition nightYou show your paintings for one evening.
An audience watching a film on a screen outdoorsA film screeningYou show a film for one evening.

What counts as an event. It has one fixed venue. It runs no more than three times, unless it is free. And the people who come are an audience, not participants: they watch or listen, they do not take part or make something. Stand-up comedy, a concert, live music, storytelling at a venue, a film screening. We check every event before it goes on sale. If yours does not fit, list it as an experience instead.

Worth knowing: ticketing is new on Detor and the free sharing link is still being built. Every organiser is checked by a person before anything goes on sale, the same as experience hosts.

06

Apple Wallet integration

Every ticket becomes an Apple Wallet pass with your address and start time. If anything changes, the pass updates.

What it costs

You pay only when Detor finds the guest for you.

Other ticketing platforms take a cut of every ticket, including the ones your own followers bought. Detor takes nothing on those.

Always free

  • Putting your event on Detor. There is no fee, however many dates you run.
  • A free event. If your event is free, we don't charge you anything. You can sell tickets for free on our platform.
  • Anyone who books through your own link. Every event gets its own link. Share it with your followers. When someone buys a ticket through that link, you pay us no commission.

You pay only for this

  • Someone finds your event on Detor and buys a ticket. A person who was not looking for you and would not have come otherwise.
  • We are one of the cheapest out there. Built for small creators, because we are creators ourselves and we know the struggle. The fee comes out of the ticket price when the booking is paid.

0% for your first three months, then 5%, and only on these bookings. Organisers who join after a city opens pay 20%.

Your own link

Bring your own audience and pay nothing.

Every event gets its own link. Put it in your bio, your story, your newsletter or on the poster. When someone buys a ticket through that link, Detor takes no commission. Your guest still gets a normal checkout, a real ticket and a receipt.

1Apply once

The same ten-minute application as everything else on Detor. It is free and you do not need payment details needed.

2Set your date and price

One date or several. You choose the price and how many tickets there are.

3Your tickets sell

Guests pay by card when they book, so everyone on your list has already paid before the day.

4You are paid after the event

Your earnings clear 72 hours after the event ends and go to your bank account every Monday. Detor writes the invoices for you.

Door 3 · List something free

Free things go on Detor too.

A market, an open day, a park concert, a free walk, a workshop you run for nothing. Detor lists all of it, and listing it is free.

There are two ways to do it, and which one you pick changes where it appears and how much you have to run on the day.

People browsing a stall at an outdoor market under a white canopy

A market anyone can walk into. It is free to attend and free to list.

Which of the two do you need?

It comes down to one thing: whether a spot has to be held for anyone. Everything else about listing it is the same either way, and both are free.

Do you want people to reserve a spot?

If no

They just turn up

No reservations needed?

There is nothing to book and nobody to count.

  • Where it goes. Into Around town, Detor's agenda for your city, next to everything else on that date.
  • What people see. What it is, where, and when it starts. Then they walk in.
  • What you get. Nothing to manage. No list, no confirmations, no messages.

These have no Book button on purpose. Nothing is being held for anyone, so there is nothing to book.

Use it for: markets, street festivals, open studios, park concerts, anything with room for whoever shows up.

If yes

They reserve a spot

Reservation needed?

There are only so many spots, so you want to know who is coming.

  • Where it goes. Into the normal listings with everything else, and it shows up when someone filters for free.
  • What people see. A normal listing with the price set to zero. They reserve a spot and it is confirmed straight away, because there is nothing to pay.
  • What you get. The same screen as any other host: who booked, how many people, and their notes.

Use it for: a free workshop with ten seats, a free walking tour, a free class, a talk in a small room.

Two rules worth knowing

A free listing costs you nothing

There is no listing fee and no commission. Nobody pays, so there is nothing for Detor to take.

Anyone can join a free listing

One person cannot book the whole thing for themselves. The spots stay open to everyone.

List a free activity Free to list, free to run, and you can add a paid experience later

The same safety on every booking

Real people, checked by us.

Meeting new people should feel safe. The same tools protect you and your guests, whichever way you use Detor.

SOS · on every trip, both sides

If anything feels off, help is one tap away.

  • One tap shares your live location with our team and your emergency contact.
  • It points you straight at local emergency services.
  • It works for guests who do not have an account.

Built into every booking, for hosts and guests alike.

Every host reviewed by us. Manual identity review and approval before you can list. No anonymous accounts, no bots.

Everyone pays before the day. Guests pay in full when they book, so there is no money to collect on the day.

Numbers and emails stay hidden. Detor hides phone numbers and email addresses in messages, in 34 languages.

Report & restrict. Report a no-show or bad behaviour in a tap. We can suspend or block accounts that break trust.

You are paid if a guest does not come. If a guest cancels less than 24 hours before, or does not come, you keep 100%.

Questions, answered

The questions hosts ask us most.

Will I actually get bookings?

We open city by city and tell people about Detor before hosts go live. The first weeks are still slow. We would rather say that than promise you a rush.

Do I need to be an experienced guide?

Not at all. Total first-timers are welcome alongside experienced guides who've hosted elsewhere. If you know your city and enjoy sharing it, the tools handle the rest.

How and when do I get paid?

Guests pay upfront through Stripe. Your earnings clear a 72-hour hold after each experience or event, and we send them to your bank every Monday. You can see your available and on-hold balances any time.

What if a guest cancels?

Cancel 24+ hours ahead and the guest is fully refunded. Cancel inside 24 hours and you keep 100%. As a host, you can only cancel more than 24 hours before, which keeps you reliable for guests.

What does it cost me?

Nothing to join or list. Founding hosts pay 0% commission for three months. After that it is 10% on experiences and 5% on events, capped at €10 a ticket. Guests may pay a small booking fee on top of your price. It never comes out of what you earn. Free events cost nothing at all.

How much time does it take?

As much or as little as you like. Detor is meant to be extra income rather than a full-time job. Host one session a month, or several a week.

Can I pause hosting?

Any time. Cross out dates on your calendar, whether that is one holiday or a whole season, and nobody can book those days. Your listing, your rate and your reviews are all waiting when you're back.

What about taxes and registering?

Your earnings are yours to declare, and everyone’s situation is different, so we cannot give tax advice. Detor gives you an invoice for every booking, a clear record of every payout, and the standard EU platform reporting (DAC7). Your paperwork is easy whatever you and your accountant decide.

Do I need to speak the local language?

No. Most guests book in English, and hosting in English works in every launch city. If you also host in another language, say so in your listing.
